These were made for Dick to take to work, so I made them in small bite size, and spread the melted chocolate mixture and added some sprinkles. The containers always come home empty.....not even a sprinkle was left.
Chocolate Scotcharoos
1 cup sugar
1 cup light corn syrup
1 cup peanut butter
6 cups rice krispies
6 ounce of chocolate bits
6 ounces of butterscotch bits
Bring sugar and corn syrup to boil. Remove from heat and blend in peanut butter. Using a large bowl add rice krispies and pour the mixture from the saucepan over the top. Makes mixing easier. Press mixture in a 9x13 inch buttered pan. Allow to cool then using the saucepan melt the bits together over simmering water. Spread over top and chill till firm. Cut into bars.
