PERFECT SUGAR COOKIE

Happy Valentine's Day

Another cookie, can't help myself.  Keep posted in the next few days I have made a few casserole dishes that I really liked.  I will share with you my friends, very soon.
Back to the cookie, they are crispy on the edge and chewy in the middle. I took this recipe from my blogging friend, Michael Ann, who is behind the sweet blog called The Big Green Bowl.    It's another recipe that I will add to my collection of cookies.    I think I have made and posted all the sugar cookies that are out in sugar land. Go check out Michael's blog and you can find the printable recipe.  Stop in and visit and say hello.  She has a lot of goodies on her blog.  I like that girl, we like the same things,  Sweets! Good thing we don't live close to each other, sugar and flour would be all over the place!!!!

Happy Day to all, enjoy baking

1 1/2 sticks of butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup of light brown sugar
1 egg
1 TBSP of vanilla
2 1/4 cups of flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
sugar for decorating

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  In your large mixing bowl mix the butter with the sugars till smooth. Add the egg, and vanilla and mix.  In another bowl add the dry ingredients and whisk this together to combine the dry ingredients.   Add this slowly to the creamed butter mixture.  Use a large spoon or I used my cookie scoop and made balls about the size of golf balls.  Roll in colored sugar if you want. Then place the balls on the parchment paper or ungreased cookie sheet and bake for 13-15 minutes. Do not press the balls. They will bake flat and crispy on the edge and chewy in the middle.   Timing will depend on the size you make the balls.

Thank you for your visit, Andi
